I look at a C file, and use M-. to find the definition of a word
Instead of opening a file with the definition I get a crash about xref
and a backtrace. This was working a few days ago; I looked at
Changelogs etc but found no clue as to the change. It is possible
that I have an old configuration, but I am not aware of having any
such.
Message seems to be
cl-no-applicable-method: No applicable method for %S: xref-backend-definitions, nil, "PVSINI"

Thanks, this is a duplicate of bug #$22026 that was fixed just a few
hours ago.

It does not appear fixed Pulled just now, remade TAGS file just in
case, and tried the identical test. I get

ps: Bug 22026 is said to be fixed in commit
a521310f9e866d0cb9ab966947ff8e13
which I cannot find in "git log"
Is this a branch issue?

It's in the emacs-25 branch, which is the one we ask everyone, who
follows the development sources, to use until 25.1 is released.

Could be. You need to build the emacs-25 branch, not the master
branch.

It works for me, FWIW.
