I opened a .c file, set hide-ifdef-initially to t, then turn on
hide-ifdef-mode. Lines bracketed by "#if 1" are hidden -- this
is not right.

The latest version 1.47 is too bleeding-edge -- hif-show-ifdef-region calls an undefined (in 21.3) function remove-overlays. Is that a way to emulate remove-overlays in 21.3?
