Subject: bug#7845: 24.0.50; doc string of `fill-region'
Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2011 23:19:02 -0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <5CA07E84117447E793865CDE9BE5D890@us.oracle.com> (raw)

"Ordinarily the variable `fill-column' controls the width."

What is "ordinarily" - or rather, when does `fill-column' not control
the width? Is there some other way to control the width (other than
binding or setting `fill-column')? The Emacs manual (node `Fill
Commands') seems to confirm that playing with `fill-column' is the
(only) way to control the width.

In GNU Emacs 24.0.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2011-01-03 on 3249CTO
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (4.4) --no-opt --cflags
-Ic:/imagesupport/include'
