No idea how to run a TTY Emacs in X synchronized mode.  Anyway the

and is, BTW, the same as in the 2014 build.  Apparently, the shadow
calculations for the Xaw3D scroll bars, when done from a TTY-started
server, are sometimes not digested by X11.  I see no problems with a
GUI-started server.
