Subject: bug#13976: forward-sexp return value not documented
Date: Sat, 16 Mar 2013 15:41:10 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <51448486.7030902@easy-emacs.de> (raw)
Hi,
forward-sexp returns point, which IMHO is useful, as it
permits writing
(setq result (forward-sexp))
Understand concerns wrt mainteance, not to make code dependent from return values.
OTOH speed is an issue at Emacs Lisp and this seems not expected to change.
Suggest to mention return value in docstring, so people may make use of it.
Best,
Andres
