  -  open emacs
  -  emacs-lisp-mode
  -  end-of-buffer
  -  type ";; abcde"
  -  set-mark-command
  -  beginning-of-line
  -  uncomment-region


I've only seen the effect when uncommenting a region that is at the  
very end of the buffer.

- In "GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (powerpc-apple-darwin8.0) of 2005-05-11 on  
nic.mit.edu":
     "Can't find the comment end."

- In "GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (powerpc-apple-darwin8.2.0)of 2005-10-09 on  
quartet.local"
     strange behavior -- the line that is left is just "abc" -- the  
"de" is gone!
