[-- Attachment #1.1.1: Type: text/plain, Size: 301 bytes --]

I have a friend who has an emac. She did something and now when you
start the computer it says that the file /etc/master.passwd has either
been deleted or that it cannot be found. I can get to the command
prompt but I haven't worked with this computer before. Can you help me.

Plain text is far better - it's easier to read, and uses far fewer bytes.

This newsgroup is for bugs in the programmers' editor called Emacs. It
has nothing to do with the computer you're having trouble with.

The "Emac" is an Apple computer, isn't it? There are quite a few
newsgroups around which deal with them. Sorry we can't help you here!

Email: aacm@muuc.dee; to decode, wherever there is a repeated letter
(like "aa"), remove half of them (leaving, say, "a").
