It depends on which version you're using and how it's configured.

On my system, the `ldd $(whence emacs)` command reports

         libXaw.so.7.0 =>         /usr/X11R6/lib/libXaw.so.7.0
         libXmu.so.6.2 =>         /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6.2
         libXt.so.6.0 =>  /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6.0
         libSM.so.6.0 =>  /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6.0
         libICE.so.6.3 =>         /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6.3
         libXext.so.6.4 =>        /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.4
         libtiff.so =>    /usr/local/lib/libtiff.so
         libjpeg.so.62 =>         /usr/local/lib/libjpeg.so.62
         libXpm.so.4.11 =>        /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4.11
         libX11.so.6.2 =>         /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6.2
         libsocket.so.1 =>        /usr/lib/libsocket.so.1
         libnsl.so.1 =>   /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1
         libkstat.so.1 =>         /usr/lib/libkstat.so.1
         libkvm.so.1 =>   /usr/lib/libkvm.so.1
         libelf.so.1 =>   /usr/lib/libelf.so.1
         libcurses.so.1 =>        /usr/lib/libcurses.so.1
         libm.so.1 =>     /usr/lib/libm.so.1
         libc.so.1 =>     /usr/lib/libc.so.1
         libdl.so.1 =>    /usr/lib/libdl.so.1
         libmp.so.2 =>    /usr/lib/libmp.so.2

Since you're apparently using the C shell, you probably want to use
`which emacs` instead of $(whence emacs). Hopefully your system has
ldd or something equivalent to list the library dependencies of an
executable.
