Not sure why, but Emacs bug report complained about
"no such program, fakemail"
I always appreciate tips on setting this up.

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I run M-x shell, then plink.exe <url: http://www.openssh.org/ >
to open an ssh connection from a MS Windows 2000 client.
Plink prompts me for a password, but Emacs trims the last 2
chars. If I append "xx" to the end of the password, it works
fine.
Note that eshell & M-x term do not even get as far as M-x shell.
I am doing this, so that TRAMP can properly connect under w32.
I believe this also affects shell-command-as-string().

I have run this from the latest official prebuilt binary, 21.3.1
and as emacs -q on different w32 boxes.

Whether you can resolve this, or not, let me know, so that I can
inform the author of Tramp.
