Subject: Interference between Eshell and Ange-FTP
Date: Mon, 9 Sep 2002 15:15:47 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <2D8309604314D41187850008C7BB0CB24A997D@MCHH248E> (raw)

In GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (i386-msvc-nt5.0.2195)
 of 2002-03-19 on buffy
configured using `configure --with-msvc (12.00)'

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Start emacs with "runemacs.exe -q --no-site-file"

Type the following Commands:
 M-x eshell
 set-variable ange-ftp-ftp-program-name "~/bin/emacs-ftp.exe"
; (necessary because the M$-FTP is borken)

load a file on another host via ftp

switch to the *eshell* buffer and type there "echo A:/*" and eshell
shows not only files in A: but also all the hosts and all
"user@host"-pairs in .netrc, e.g. (edited, '...' indicate deleted hostnames):

("a:/ftp.siemens.de:" "a:/ficus:" ... "a:/kir@clivia:" "a:/ftp@ftp.sbs.de:" ... "a:/ppp-out.zip" "a:/hd.config" "a:/synchro.pl~")

Starting with a:/ppp-out.zip is the correct output; everything before
that is bogus.
