Subject: bug#5379: emacs wont start
Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 12:49:41 -0800 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20100114204941.GA7498@sfu.ca> (raw)
Emacs won't start with TERM=xterm-color.
-----
emacs: Terminal type xterm-color is not defined.
If that is not the actual type of terminal you have, [. . .]
-----
However, it *will* start with TERM=xterm
This contradicts the doc, which says that the type is stripped, one
hyphen at a time, until it finds a name it recognizes (and therefore
it should come to xterm and start).
Sorry if this one has been fixed. It appears that it might be OK
in 22.3, but I haven't been able to find it in the bug list.
