Subject: emacs 22.1 redraws window for each character 12 times, each mouse increment
Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 15:56:51 -0500 (CDT)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <200710202056.l9KKupPc057507@neoranga.16paws.com> (raw)

I can barely write this because the window is flashing like crazy, mainly
all white. Every character causes like a dozzen redraws and eachmouse
twitch does the same. This is after I turned off blinking cursor, because
it was a strobe. Now, at least, when I'm not doing anything, it stops.

I have no text cursor, only the mouse cursor. This happened on a working
system that I made the terrible mistake of upgrading from X.org 6.9 to
7.3. I have learned my lesson: never upgrade X again. If a posr won't
work with the old X version ("Oh, your files are in the wrong place so I
won't compile because I know better than you") then it is a package I can
live without.

Please help. It seems that FreeBSD is getting less and less reliable. So
sad.

Andrew
