In GNU Emacs 21.2.1 (sparc-sun-solaris2.9, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars) of 2002-06-21 on watford-71 configured using `configure --prefix=/opt/sfw' Important settings: value of $LC_ALL: nil value of $LC_COLLATE: nil value of $LC_CTYPE: nil value of $LC_MESSAGES: nil value of $LC_MONETARY: nil value of $LC_NUMERIC: nil value of $LC_TIME: nil value of $LANG: nil locale-coding-system: nil default-enable-multibyte-characters: t Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: 'comint-interrupt-subjob' does never worked for Solaris 9 and, _after_ installing all Solaris patches, is broken now for our Solaris 8 boxes too. *Before* applying the patches 'C-c C-c' works fine on the solaris 8 boxes! As far as I can see, 'comint-interrupt-subjob' is still working on fully patched Solaris 2.7 and Solaris 2.6 boxes (with the same configuration), but broken for sol8 and 9 independently from the version (20.7/21.2) or the op-sys-version (2.7,8,9) it's build for (if it is running anyhow...). so I first guessed, that this is an op-sys problem -- but the 'comint-interrupt-subjob' function in 'XEmacs' remains intact! This broken 'comint-interrupt-subjob' affects the normal shell (M-x shell) and other modes running subjobs, like IDLwave mode, Gnu-R or Octave... -- and this is quite annoying. any hint -- any hope?
