bug#19927: 24.4.90; su command in *shell* buffer does not work

su command in *shell* buffer does not work.
su does not ask for the password and exits with "su: Sorry".
The value of process-connection-type variable is t.
There are no .zshenv, .zprofile, .zshrc, .zlogin, .zlogout, .cshrc and .login.
